⚽Community Shield
The Football Association Community Shield, previously known as the Charity Shield, is an annual match in English football in which the champions of the previous Premier League season and holders of the FA Cup compete at Wembley Stadium. History
The Community Shield is a charity football event that was established in 1908 with the proceeds from the game distributed to community initiatives and charities around England. The format of the competition has varied over the years, but in 1930 it was contested between the Football League winner and FA Cup winner and this format has remained to the present day with a few exceptions. Due to the formation of the FA Premier League, the community shield match has been between the Premier League and FA Cup winners since 1993. It was previously possible for clubs to draw in the Community Shield and share the trophy, having it in their possession for 6 months each. However, penalties were introduced in 1993 as a match decider to alleviate this problem.
