The world of Sports never settles down. After concluding 2022 with the FIFA World Cup, fans are also geared up for the exciting events set to take place this year. Let's look at 2023’s highly anticipated sporting events.

2023 Women’s T20I Cricket World Cup (10th February - 26 February)

A significant cricket tournament, the 13th Cricket World Cup, will occur in February this year. The World's fourth-largest sporting event is sure to be an exciting event because of the upsets and thrill it provides. With two groups of five teams immediately leading to the semi-finals, the tournament will have fast and furious proceedings, with superpowers England, Australia, and India competing for the glory.

Wimbledon (3 July - 16 July)
The World's oldest and most prestigious tennis competition, the 136th edition of the Wimbledon Championships, will kick off at the start of July this year. Last year, Novak Djokovic successfully defended his Wimbledon singles title by defeating Nick Kyrgios in the final, winning his 21st major title.

According to the tournament’s official site, a record number of people have applied for tickets for the 2023 Championships through the public ballot, which is understandable given the climax it contains. Eyes will be on the local players Cameroon Norrie and Emma Raducanu, with the former to go all in once again after progressing to the semi-finals last year and later to finally win a title since her US Open win.

2023 Uefa Champions League Final (10 June):
A highly anticipated event of the most-watched sport in the world, the UEFA Champions League final will also be played in June this year. Governed by UEFA, the UEFA Champions League final is one of the year's most awaited fixtures. This year, the final of the 68th edition of the premier football event will take place at Atatürk Olympic Stadium, Istanbul.
Atatürk Olympic Stadium is in the Başakşehir area of the capital and can fill in more than 75,000 fans. It's worth mentioning that Real Madrid won the fixture last year against Liverpool by 1-0, winning the trophy for the record 14th time.

2023 FIFA Women's World Cup (20 July - 20 August):
The most significant event in international football for women. This tournament takes place every four years. It's worth mentioning that the upcoming World Cup will be lengthier than previous editions because of the number of teams expanding from 24 to 32. The tournament is scheduled to occur in Australia and New Zealand, the first time to have two host nations in tournament history.

USA women's soccer team will enter the tournament as defending champions and will be looking forward to making the hat-trick of titles after winning the previous two competitions.

2023 Rugby World Cup (September 8 - October 28):
Rugby World Cup is the pinnacle of the Rugby sport. The International Rugby Union tournament is played every four years, where top teams from all over the world compete.
The 10th edition of the Rugby World Cup is scheduled to take place at nine venues in France in September - October, with the final to be played at Stade de France, Paris, France, where the Olympic Games opening ceremony took place last year.
