Queen Tour Overview

The Rhapsody Tour with Queen & Adam Lambert first began in 2019 touring North America and for 2022 it is coming to Europe. Founding Queen members Brian May and Roger Taylor, on the guitar and drums, will be accompanied by vocals from American singer, Adam Lambert.

The incredible stage show is based on the hit film, Bohemian Rhapsody, and the trio will perform songs including Can’t Stop Me Now, Another One Bites The Dust, Killer Queen and of course, Bohemian Rhapsody. Reviews from their North American tour have praised it as being iconic, mesmerising, bone-chilling and their most buzzworthy performance in years.

About Queen

Queen are a British rock band that first formed in London in 1970, with original band members including Freddie Mercury as lead singer and pianist, Brian May on the guitar and vocals, Roger Taylor on drums and John Deacon on bass. The legendary band have straddled multiple genres, beginning their musical journey as a progressive and hard rock band, before venturing more towards pop rock.

Queen first hit the charts in 1974 with their second album, Queen II, they then released Sheer Heart Attack later that year and A Night at the Opera in 1975. The three hugely successful consecutive albums gave the band international success along with their single Bohemian Rhapsody which remained at number one in the UK charts for nine weeks.

In 1977, Queen released the album, News of the World, which included the anthems, We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions and by the 1980s they were one of the most popular rock bands in the world. Their best selling single is “Another One Bites The Dust” and “Greatest Hits” is their best selling album in the UK, it is also certified nine times platinum in the US.

Queen is considered to be one of the most culturally influential bands of all time and are amongst the best selling music artists in the world. The band has received numerous awards including Outstanding Contribution to British Music at the BRIT Awards in 1990, the Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Song Collection and the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.

The band today consists of original band members Brian May and Roger Taylor who perform with American vocalist Adam Lambert on their ongoing worldwide tour, The Rhapsody Tour, which was announced after the success of the biopic film, Bohemian Rhapsody.

  • After originally going by the name Smile, Freddie Mercury came up with the band’s iconic name, Queen.
  • Drummist Roger Taylor was training to become a dentist before joining the band and guitarist Brian May had a PhD in Astronomy.
  • Original and legendary lead singer, Freddie Mercury, was born on the island of Zanzibar before moving to India where he attended boarding school.
  • Before joining the band Freddie Mercury worked as a baggage handler at London’s Heathrow Airport.
  • Freddie designed Queen’s logo himself after studying a degree in art and graphics. The logo consists of the band’s star signs: two Leos for Roger and John, one Virgo for Freddie and a Cancer for Brian.
