About Dave
Dave, who has also been known as Santan Dave and who goes by the real name David Orobosa Oguma, is a British rapper, singer and songwriter who first rose to fame in 2016. Dave had a number of successful singles, including the grime song, Thiago Silva, which also featured AJ Tracey, before he released his debut EP Six Paths in 2016.
Dave has been recognised for his socially conscious lyrics and willingness to confront political issues with his music. In 2018, Dave released Question Time a song that criticised the British Government and which went on to win the Ivor Novello Award for Best Contemporary Song. The same year, he also released Funky Friday, which became his first number one hit on the UK singles chart and his first platinum certified single.
In 2019 Dave released his first album, Psychodrama, which debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart, had the biggest first week streams for a UK rap album and received widespread critical acclaim. Psychodrama went on to win the Mercury Prize and Album of the Year at the 2020 BRIT Awards.
We’re All Alone in This Together, released in July 2021, is Dave’s second and latest album. The album consists of 12 tracks and features a number of other artists including Stormzy, Wizkid and James Blake. It is this album that Dave will be promoting in his 2022 tour across America, Canada, the UK and Ireland.
Dave Facts

- As well as being a talented rapper, Dave is also a Grade 7 level pianist and used to spend up to five hours a day practising.
